: Freedom to TV!

Khodorkovsky will “try” to take advantage of his right to parole. So he answered one of the written questions of journalists of the Central Television program on the NTV TV channel. The program was aired on May 29. The program told about the persecution of the ex-oligarch by security forces before the arrest. It was said about the recently had a review of signatures under a letter against the Khodorokovsky nearby people. He quoted the host and the words of Dmitry Medvedev, said at a large press conference that Khodorkovsky is not dangerous for society at large.

At first glance, the petition of Khodorkovsky about Udo is the next voice in the desert, which has the final goal - to attract the attention of the domestic and - most importantly - the Western press to Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Khodorkovsky already asked for parole. However, according to the law, he needs to admit guilt, but the former businessman does not want to go to this.

Khodorkovsky’s lawyer Vadim Kluvgant on Monday explained to RAPSI that his client does not admit his guilt in the embezzlement of oil and, according to the explanations of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and the content of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Russia, still has the right to ask for conventional release. The court also has the right to: not to let go of Khodorkovsky as a non -nonsense.

However, there are reservations. Khodorokovsky appeared on TV - this is a new turn in the Khodorkovsky case. True, the turn is not indeed, but in the information policy of state and winding affairs in its coverage. The author of the program himself emphasized: "The attitude to the one whose name cannot be called is changing."

Media-deliga on the figure of the former oligarch occurred several months ago. The television channels quite neutrally talked about the Khodorkovsky case on the eve of the sentence in the second case, allowing both parties to speak out. However, television never reached such an undisguised sympathy for the businessman, from the very beginning of the story of the arrest of Khodorkovsky.

Whoever releases the broadcast on the air, he must understand that those who initiated the persecution and landing of the oligarch are interpreting the transmission in the spirit, if not a declaration of war, then a serious threat.

For the security forces (Khodorkovsky himself called the customer of his landing the current deputy prime minister Igor Sechin) Khodorkovsky is, including a symbol of preservation of their influence. So, they will have to answer the unknown (not to them) to the addressee who authorized the show. Of course, there was no question of justification of the ex-oligarch in the plot of NTV, but it was a hint of it. Representatives of the power elite easily read the signals he converted.

There may not be no power customer (conditionally - close to Dmitry Medvedev) at the plot on NTV.

The atmosphere of a certain liberal front on TV has been felt recently and the sensation has become intensifying. It is difficult to say what is more here - softer installations from curators from the Kremlin and the White House, the desire of television managers to attract a younger and politically active audience to view their product, ordering certain power actors. Khodorkovsky in this refraction - definitely will not work as an option to attract the public. Few people are worried about him and he can’t make the rating for sympathy. However, for the general “freedom of TV” is a turning point.

When in December Dmitry Medvedev asked the leaders of the three largest television channels a question about the freedom of the media in general and television in particular, NTV CEO Vladimir Kulistikov discussed for a long time about “internal freedom” and that he had it.
