A monument to Brodsky was opened at the US Embassy in Moscow

In Moscow, opposite the buildings of the US Embassy, a monument to the outstanding domestic poet Joseph Brodsky was opened.

According to Interfax , in the framework of the solemn ceremony, to the poet’s poems, a monument, which is several flat figures on a granite pedestal, was discovered by Minister of Culture Alexander Avdeev, chairman of the Moscow City Duma Vladimir Platonov and poet Evgeny Rhine.

“Geniuses in the 20th century is Akhmatova, Brodsky, Tsvetaeva. It is impossible to explain their appearance. A great, incomprehensible, giant of the Brodsky era appeared in Russia, ”the minister said. The authors of the monument are artist and sculptor Georgy Franguleyan and architect Sergei Skuratov.
