The DTV channel in the new season will broadcast with an updated software net and a new name, as one of the working options of which is proposed “Perez TV”, Kommersant reports.
According to an employee of the STS Media holding, who bought DTV four years ago, from the fall, DTV will certainly change its name. The future concept of the channel has not yet been adopted, but the core of its audience will still be viewers of 25–45 years. The former General Producer of TNT Dmitry Troitsky, who became its director in May, is working on the new concept of DTV.
By 2015, DTV plans to increase the share of its target audience from the current 2.1 to 3-4%. This is supposed to be achieved due to the growth of technical penetration of the channel from 72.5 to about 80%, and partly investments in content and strengthening marketing activity. The average age of the viewer of the channel should decrease from 46 to 42 years, the STS media leadership believes.
Currently, the DTV format is qualified as Actuality (“Actual Reality”). At the same time, the style of a number of programs resembles amateur shooting, and some programs are based on a video shot by surveillance cameras or eyewitnesses of incidents. One of the premiers of this year was the reality show "Good night, men." In March-April, the share of the target audience of DTS began to grow and amounted to 2.1%, TNS telecommunications indicate.
