The bailiffs on Wednesday will submit a bill that will allow them to take a driver’s license from debtors. According to the First Deputy Director of the Federal Bailiff Service Sergey Sazanov, the corresponding document will soon be submitted to the Ministry of Justice and the Government of the Russian Federation. It is expected that the law can be adopted in 2012-2013.
At the same time, as the Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes, the innovation will not affect those citizens for whom a driver’s license is a need for activities: bus drivers, minibuses, taxi. Also in the list of restrictions that the bailiff service is ready to introduce, there is a ban on driving small vessels and issuing licenses for hunting and fishing.
The head of the Moscow Chamber of Lawyers, Henry Reznik, believes that the bailiffs are going through the desire to buy debts. Earlier, he stated that freedom of movement on any form of transport is the constitutional right of a citizen.
