According to the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee, the Motovilikha District Court re-convicted the doctors of the gynecological department No. 2 of the city clinical hospital No. 4. The head of the department, Vladimir Kuznetsov, and doctors Irina Konevskikh and Sergey Shvylev were found guilty of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official powers) and Part 1 of Art. 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust). According to the regional investigative department, from September 2007 to May 2008, Mr. Kuznetsov, along with the other defendants, persuaded 30 patients of the department to undergo paid surgical operations, which, within the framework of the regional program, were to be carried out free of charge, at the expense of the compulsory health insurance fund . For operations, victims contributed from 5 thousand to 10 thousand rubles to the hospital cash desk. As a result, the defendants received interest for participating in paid operations. It is worth noting that the Motovilikha District Court has already issued a guilty verdict against these individuals. However, they appealed it to the regional court, which returned the case for a new trial. Based on its results, Mr. Kuznetsov and Ms. Konevskikh were sentenced to deprivation of the right to hold leadership positions in health authorities for three and two years. Sergei Shvylev was sentenced to 140 hours of compulsory labor, but due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution, he was released from punishment by the court.
