Russia allowed the import of vegetables from Spain and Denmark

Russia lifted the ban on the supply of vegetables from two more countries of the European Union - Spain and Denmark, today said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Gennady Onishchenko.

Prior to this, deliveries were allowed from the Netherlands and Belgium.

The ban on the import of fresh vegetables from Europe was introduced by Russia in early June due to the outbreak of dangerous intestinal infection, from which about 40 people died.

Later, an agreement was reached that European vegetables would be admitted to the Russian market, but the safety of each batch will be confirmed by a special certificate.
