In Turkmenistan, women have been seen on public transport loudly praising the president and defending him from possible charges in connection with the recent explosions in Abadan. This was reported by the Chronicle of Turkmenistan . The publication believes that behind this are the authorities who are afraid of popular discontent and are trying to extinguish this discontent.

The source claims that propagandists “are on almost every bus.” All of them reportedly make approximately the same statements: “Our president knew nothing! He was deceived by those close to him! He will punish them! He’s great! He’ll build a new Abadan!”

Passengers, as the publication notes, try not to enter into a discussion with these women, fearing that this is “fraught with consequences.”

The Chronicle of Turkmenistan, which reported on the appearance of the propagandists, was one of the main sources of information about the recent explosions in Abadan (despite the fact that local authorities provided extremely sparing information about the emergency). The materials of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” were used by many foreign publications and news agencies.

In Abadan, a city located several tens of kilometers from Ashgabat, military warehouses caught fire on July 7 (according to one version, the fire was caused by extreme heat). This resulted in ammunition explosions that were scattered over long distances. The explosions continued the next day.

Unofficial sources reported dozens of deaths and injuries, as well as significant destruction in Abadan and its environs. The authorities, for their part, denied information about a large-scale emergency: at first, official reports stated that in Abadan only warehouses with pyrotechnics caught fire, and that this did not lead to casualties.

Later, the authorities admitted that there were still victims. The report of the government commission, as reported by Turkmenistan.Ru , stated that two military personnel and 13 civilians were killed, and “houses and buildings were partially damaged.” At the same time, the authorities insisted that the fire occurred in the pyrotechnics warehouse.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also promised that “virtually a new city” would be built on the site of Abadan.
