The holding gained control over them as a result of the bankruptcy of these enterprises, which was initiated by its affiliated Ak Bars Bank. CJSC HC "Zolotoy Kolos" transferred several enterprises that were in different stages of bankruptcy, in particular, OJSC "Buinsky Sugar Plant", to the holding company "Ak Bars". Kommersant was informed about this by Ak Bars Holding itself. His press service did not specify the entire list of enterprises, but noted that the amount of accounts payable of all acquired enterprises exceeds 16 billion rubles, which “corresponds to the three-year turnover of the Zolotoy Kolos group.”

According to a source close to the situation, we are talking about three assets - Buinsky Sugar Factory OJSC, Buinsky Elevator OJSC and Burundukovsky Elevator OJSC, as well as their subsidiaries. These enterprises do not appear in the latest list of affiliates of OJSC HC Ak Bars, dated June 30. However, the press service of the Kommersant holding said that it has already directed efforts “to paying wages, financing crops, preserving livestock, and restoring stable financial and economic activities.” It is planned to repay them “in the manner prescribed by law,” noted Ak Bars Holding. They refused to disclose the timing, amount and scheme of the transaction.

The main creditor of the enterprises, Ak Bars Bank, as well as representatives of Zolotoy Kolos, refused to speak on this topic at all. An anonymous source claims that “this deal cannot be called a purchase - there is a different scheme here.”

As Kommersant previously wrote, a year ago Ak Bars Bank demanded that the Zolotoy Kolos group repay the loan debt ahead of schedule, taking into account future interest until 2017. In September, the Vakhitovsky District Court decided to recover a total of 3.3 billion rubles from the Buinsky sugar plant and other enterprises of the Golden Ear in favor of the bank. The temporary manager of all three enterprises, Almaz Sabitov, told Kommersant yesterday that he knows nothing about their new owner. He only said that the elevators are still under surveillance, and the amount of debt has remained at the same level. “The accounts of all three enterprises are frozen, debts are not paid,” said Mr. Sabitov.

The market notes that with the acquisition of the Buinsky sugar plant, Ak Bars Holding gained control over the largest sugar producer in Tatarstan. The plant, with a capacity of more than 36 thousand tons of sugar per year, occupies about 40% of the republic's market. In addition, since May last year, the holding has owned another sugar producer - OJSC Nizhegorodsakhar with a capacity of 11 thousand tons per year, which previously also belonged to Zolotoy Kolos.

Also, Ak Bars Holding has significantly increased its capacity for the production of wheat flour - the Burundukovsky elevator produces 300 tons per day, second only to OJSC Kazanzernoprodukt (600 tons per day) and the Bugulma Bakery Plant No. 2 (425 tons per day). The capacity of the Buinsky elevator for simultaneous storage of grain and seeds is 128.3 thousand tons.

Chairman of the Board of the Union of Bread Producers of Tatarstan Ildar Nikiforov called the acquisition of the Golden Ear enterprises by Ak Bars Holding “a great benefit for them.” “Ak Bars Holding has established management, a good dialogue with the authorities, and extensive experience in the agro-industrial complex,” he noted. According to Mr. Nikiforov, before this Ak Bars Holding did not have large grain processing facilities, thus the holding received wide access to this market. “The sugar factory is the largest producer in the republic, a strategically important enterprise.
