Medvedev removed Mikhalkov from the Council for Culture and Art

The Presidential Council on Culture and Art experienced an update - instead of Nikita Mikhalkov, David Tukhmanov and other cultural figures, Vladimir Spivakov, Olga Sviblova and Karen Shakhnazarov came, Gazeta.ru reports.

On July 21, the press service of the President of Russia said that Dmitry Medvedev approved the new composition of the Council for Culture and Art under the President of Russia. The composition of the council was significantly expanded - to 22 people, 10 of which replaced the previous members. Among the excluded composer David Tukhmanov, Director of the Russian State Library Viktor Fedorov, Rector Markhi Dmitry Shvidkovsky, President of Peterhof Vadim Znamenov, art critic Daniil Dondure, Ballerina Svetlana Zakharova, film director Sergey Miroshnichenko, conductor Yuri Temirikanov and film director Nikita Mikhalkov.

There were changes in the leadership: director Karen Shakhnazarov became Deputy Chairman of the Council, which is Medvedev, replacing Mikhail Piotrovsky as director of the Hermitage, as the director of the Hermitage. In addition to Shakhnazarov, the council also included the artist and designer Igor Gurovich, musician Andrei Makarevich, artist Khora Khora named after Pyatnitsky Alexander Permyakov, director of the multimedia complex of actual arts Olga Sviblova, conductor Vladimir Spivakov, director of the estate of Leo Tolstoy “Yasnaya Polyana” Vladimir Tolstoy and others.

In addition, young artists also included the opera director Vasily Barkhatov and the winner of the presidential prize, Pianist Ekaterina Mechetina.

In an interview with the newspaper Izvestia, Mikhalkov commented on the change of composition of the council: “Why are you waiting for comments from me? For her part, the presidential secretary of the Russian President Natalya Timakova told the newspaper that all changes in the presidential council were made due to rotation, "and there is no need to look for pitfalls. The Presidential Council for Culture and Art was created in 1996 as an advisory body to inform the head of state on the state of affairs in the field of culture and art, as well as assistance in interaction with cultural figures and artistic associations. In addition, the Council is engaged in the nomination of proposals to the President of the Russian Federation on topical issues of state policy in the field of culture and art. In addition, the tasks of the Council include the development of proposals for determining cultural policy, an examination of draft federal laws and other regulatory legal acts on culture issues and recommendations on the award of state -owners.
