The Ministry of Defense newspaper confirmed that while the ranks of recruits are equipped without the participation of young people from Chechnya. The official representative of the department, Colonel Igor Konashenkov, also referred to the lack of an order from Moscow, but did not name its reasons. At the same time, the colonel noted that in all other republics of the North Caucasus there is a full -fledged call.

According to the source in the General Staff, the decision not to take Chechens to the army does not come from the headquarters, but from higher leadership. The reason is that they do not want to teach "potential militants," the source said. “No matter how much the wolf is feeding, he still looks into the forest,” he explained. “It is no secret that many of the Chechens are relatives of the militants. Well, you will call him to the troops, and he will be the cousin of Shamil Basayev, a militant in his soul and a wonderful warrior in practice, and then what?”

The company commander of the 18th brigade, deployed at the Khankala military base in Chechnya, completely compared Chechens in Russia with Palestinians in Israel. According to MK, the last time a full -fledged call from Chechnya took place in 1991. With the beginning of the First Chechen war, the call was completely stopped. At the beginning of 2000, in the midst of the second Chechen campaign, about 20 Chechens-sportsmen were sent to serve in the Moscow Region Ministry of Defense. But soon between the Caucasians and other colleagues, as well as the officers who fought in Chechnya, clashes began, and all the soldiers had to return home.
