Babakov confirmed the entry into the Popular Front

The Vice Speaker of the State Duma from Fair Russia Alexander Babakov confirmed that he intends to join the All-Russian Popular Front (ONF). It is reported on Friday, July 29, RIA Novosti .

“I invited you to declare my decision to join the Popular Front,” Babakov told reporters at a press conference. He substantiated his decision with “irreconcilable contradictions” with the leader of the Social Revolutionaries Sergei Mironov. Babakov also noted that he does not plan to join United Russia.

According to Babakov, in any case he would have left the party, even if even the ONF did not exist. He claims that the transition to ONF does not require him to change political beliefs and allows him to "preserve his own person, his own principles." As Babakov noted, far from the ONF, not everyone treats the ONF as categorically as Mironov.

“The decision of Alexander Babakov once again testifies that people who think, with an active life position today do not see another alternative for the implementation of their ideas, except for joining the All -Russian Popular Front,” said Unicorn Sergei Neverov.

According to him, “ONF is the only site in the country that gives such an opportunity. And the leaders of the opposition parties, first of all, Sergei Mironov, need to think about it if they want to have any prospects for their structures in the future. And not only to preserve their own positions at all costs. ” “So far, on the example of Alexander Babakov, we see that those who are more important than high posts come to the ONF,” Neverov said. He noted that “Babakov will undergo a primaries procedure in Voronezh along with other preliminary voting participants. We hope that in the course of them it is possible for him to offer a bright constructive program, to make ideas that will improve life in the region and in the country as a whole. ”

Recall, on June 21, it became known that one of the leaders of Fair Russia Alexander Babakov leaves the party to join the All -Russian Popular Front. Baibakov headed the Present Party, one of the three parties, on the basis of which Fair Russia was subsequently created. The party first confirmed the information about Babakov’s departure, but then refuted. The vice speaker himself did not comment on the situation. On July 26, Babakov was in the list of participants in joint primaries of United Russia and ONF.
