The officer is charged with Art. 350 of the Criminal Code-"Violation of the rules of driving or operating cars, which entailed by negligence of the death of a person," ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the press service of the military investigative department of the RF IC for the Volga-Ural Military District.
The emergency occurred on July 27 at the central base of repair of military equipment during the "planned rearrangement of tanks." The officer, managing the T-72 tank, ran into an ordinary Artem Bykov. The soldier pressed to a nearby tank, and he received injuries that are not compatible with life. An ambulance was urgently called to the scene of the incident, which delivered a soldier to the city hospital. After a while, he died in intensive care.
Friends of the deceased informed Sia-Press that Artem's parents called from part 28 and reported an accident. According to the Yugra television and radio company, Bykov was buried in Surgut.
"The commander of the military district issued an order to suspend the operation of military equipment in the military unit where the tragedy took place," a source in the information support group of the Central Military District said.
Death under the tank
This is not the first case of the death of a soldier under the caterpillars of an armored vehicle.
