The court acquitted the beaten professor of the conservatory of the policeman

On August 1, the court of Yekaterinburg justified the policeman Stanislav Postnikov, who was accused of beating the professor of the Ural Conservatory Sergei Beloglazov, the newspaper “ Evening Vedomosti ” reports.

The court recognized Postnikov’s actions during the detention of Beloglazov as legal. The judge came to the conclusion that the policeman only demanded documents from Beloglazov and put on handcuffs on him, but did not beat him. The judge, on the contrary, reacted to the testimony of the professor and his defenders critically. Beluglazov, in turn, said that he expected such a decision, since, in his opinion, the case was registered. However, the professor does not intend to challenge the court decision.

On February 1, 2010, the 62-year-old professor of the Ural Conservatory Sergey Beloglazov was detained by Postnikov and taken to the station, where he was held for about an hour and released. The policeman claimed that he was detained by the professor, since he looked like a kind of wanted criminal. In addition, he was drunk and behaved defiantly. Beluglazov, in turn, claims that he was beaten in the site. After this incident, a criminal case was opened against Postnikov under the article “Excess of official powers”.
