The city election commission of St. Petersburg recognized the appointment of elections in two municipal districts of the Northern capital, where the city governor Valentina Matvienko is running. According to RIA Novosti, this was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Horiz Infantry Dmitry Krasnyansky. "We have checked all the documents. Our opinion is that the elections are scheduled absolutely legally," he said.

On Monday, the city election commission of St. Petersburg checked the legality of the announcement of elections in two municipalities of the Northern capital, in which Matvienko intends to participate.
