Tymoshenko’s lawyers told the prosecutors in the "gas case" - the judge refused
In the Pechersk Court of Kyiv, court hearings on the "gas case" continue. The lawyer of the ex-Prime Minister Nikolai Syry on Wednesday, on Wednesday, declared a discharge to the prosecutor in the process of Alexander Mikitenko. Then the lawyer declared a divert for another state prosecutor Lilia Frolova, Interfax reports. He motivates this by the fact that in the process there should be a fair procedure that is not. The judge refused to satisfy the petition.
Prosecutors, in turn, stated that there are no legal grounds for their withdrawal. Frolova called lawyers unfounded about misunderstanding by prosecutors of the essence of the prosecution. She called other claims to Tymoshenko’s defense unreasonable. Mikitenko holds the same opinion. According to him, Tymoshenko supported the court, so there are no legal grounds for the removal of state prosecutors.
The Opposition Party "Fatherland", headed by the ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, demanded that President Viktor Yanukovych take part in her fate. “We demand not only to immediately free Tymoshenko, but also to close the criminal case falsified against her,” the party’s widespread statement noted.
