Matvienko won the elections in St. Petersburg

The Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko, according to the final estimates, scored 92 percent and 94.5 percent of the vote in the districts in the districts of Petrovsky and the Red River, Interfax reports.

According to a source in United Russia, these figures are slightly different from previously announced preliminary results, since the initial calculation does not take into account damaged ballots and other factors that may slightly affect the voting results.

The CEC claims that the elections in which Matvienko participated went without violations. This was reported on the website of RIA "Novosti" . The deputy chairman of the CEC Leonid Ivlev added that the turnout at the election on August 21 was three times more than in the previous elections in 2009. Then in the municipal elections in St. Petersburg, the turnout amounted to about 9 percent, and now more than 30 percent.

According to the media, such a high turnout was provided thanks to cultural events and low prices for goods. Thus, the correspondent of the Moscow Komsomolets noticed three -color ribbons in the hands of voters who voted behind Matvienko. It was reported that these ribbons were issued in the plots, and its bearer received the right to a free excursion with lunch to Pavlovsk.
