The Ministry of Finance proposes to change the rules for compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicles (OSAGO) in connection with a change in the technical inspection of cars and the participation of insurers in it, RIA Novosti reports.

President Dmitry Medvedev signed on July 1 the law "On a technical inspection of vehicles and amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation", which provides for the transfer of mandatory inspection from the maintenance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to commercial technical centers, the cancellation of this procedure for new cars and the conclusion of an OSAGO agreement only if the inspection is carried out. The insurance rules are the main document on the basis of which an OSAGO agreement is concluded.

The changes proposed by the Ministry of Finance in the OSAGO Rules, in particular, establish the possibility of concluding a compulsory insurance contract for a vehicle only after its technical inspection or state technical inspection; the possibility of submitting the documents necessary for the conclusion of the compulsory insurance contract in the form of electronic documents; Entry information on insurance (under the previous compulsory insurance contract) and information contained in the application for the conclusion of the compulsory insurance contract to the automated information system (AIS).

The new rules involve the reconciliation of information provided by the insured when concluding a compulsory insurance contract, with AIS of compulsory insurance and a unified automated information inspection information system.
