A strange thing. Lukashenko, a warm master, invited all Belarusians, regardless of political beliefs, sit down with him at a round table and talk about the future, and he was refused. And okay, it would be only about dissidents: it is known what kind of people, every second, if not a Polish spy, then German. But the trouble is: in the West, they also did not appreciate this generous proposal.
There they even pretended that nothing happens in Belarus. They did not hear the perestroika speeches of the reformer, who yesterday appeared before the world a convinced marketer, directly saying that the course of the Belarusian ruble would determine demand and demand. Directly at the session of the currency-pack exchanger, as in America, God forgive me. And any exchanger of any bank will have to sell currency to citizens - at the established rate.
That is, of course, he would not have been himself if he had not immediately announced that the Minsk State Controllapse was obliged to put a tough shuttle to those confusion who would try to artificially escalate the situation (especially for journalists). And he promised harsh punishment to ministers and bankers in the event that they "do not stabilize the situation." But still, what amazing news comes from Minsk: the “bunny” goes on free swimming, and any Belarusian, at least just leaving prison, can at least get to the round table tomorrow, near the old man.
No, they did not appreciate.
The representative of the European Commission John Clansi said that all political prisoners should be released and rehabilitated in Belarus. Foreign Ministers of the countries of Scandinavia and the Baltic states called for the immediate liberation of political prisoners in Belarus. The press secretary of the Polish Foreign Ministry noted that the main condition for the resumption of dialogue with Belarus is the release and complete rehabilitation of all prisoners and repressed.
How they conspired.
Worse than that. According to the good old tradition, Lukashenko not only released some political stakes into the wild, but threatens to release almost all others. Without rehabilitating, of course, but to demand this from the old man is the top of indecent. In the framework of the same tradition, he imitates rapprochement with Russia - and that look at it, it will sell it the most expensive pearls from his collection of economic miracles, not to mention Belaise, this famous Museum of Tractor Engineering ... No, it does not go. Release, they say, everyone who was driven into the camps of your Chekists and judges, otherwise there will be no conversation.
Apparently, in the West they finally understood one simple thing.
Old Man is not afraid of Europe. The Old Man with the West wants to bargain according to the scheme, which was accumulated in the GDR, although he did not serve in Dresden: you are money for us - we are dissidents to you. But first money. And then, they say, I transplant everyone and go to be friends with Putin. Previously, it was a serious argument even in discussions with America. However, recently, this universal master line for the hearts and safes of Western partners has ceased to operate.
The Old Man is afraid of Russia, and here is the rare case when his illustrious paranoia is completely correlated with reality. There, in Moscow, if Lukashenko allows himself too much, they can even make a dividing film about his totalitarian regime. But in fact, the disassembly of Lukashenko with the opposition worries few in the Kremlin. In the end, Russian practice differs from Belarusian except that is statistically. But to take the former Soviet Republic to their hands, having stolen the main geopolitical catastrophe of the twentieth century, Russian friends and allies are not averse to. And they do not set conditions. They patiently wait for a quick -tempered neighbor to finally ruin their economy, and the crowds of former admirers of the dad will fill the city squares, and he himself rushes to Moscow to ask for help and mercy.
This scenario is most frightened by Lukashenko. What is a delay about, but still guessed in Washington, Brussels, Helsinki, Warsaw and some other cities. That is why now a dialogue with the Old Man is now neglecting the tone in which Western politicians respond to the desperate speeches of the Belarusian president. And he understands only this language, the language of contemptuous phrases and unambiguous gestures, and only at such hours, days and weeks of his unfortunate opposition, there is a real chance of release. Without any conditions and humiliating pardon. The peacekeeper’s hand hangs in the air, and it is noticeable how sadly he is to sit alone at his round table.
