Radar Europro will be placed in Turkey

The radar of an early warning about the threat of a missile attack within the framework of the US and NATO created by the missile defense system will be located in Turkey. This was stated by the representative of the country's Foreign Ministry of Selchuk Unal, the website of RIA Novosti reports.

The decision to deploy a Pro system was made at the NATO summit in Lisbon in 2010. Türkiye initially supported the implementation of this initiative in every possible way. According to local media reports, a radar integrated into the general Europrop system is planned to be placed in southeastern Turkey.

Under the administration of George, Bush Jr., the United States intended to place anti -equits in Poland, and in the Czech Republic a radar of the pro system. Moscow considered this a direct threat to its strategic potential. The current US President Barack Obama, having changed the Pro strategy, decided to postpone these plans, but did not abandon them completely, which also entailed the negative reaction of Moscow.

The radar in question is the naval mobile radar detection system AN/TPY -2. The placement of radar and interceptor missiles will reflect regional ballistic missile threats to Europe.
