
In the office of the Bank "International Financial Club", which is part of the ONEXIM group, businessman Mikhail Prokhorov, the alleged bribe taker was detained. According to RIA Novosti, the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of Economic Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Andrei Pilipchuk, operational investigative actions are not related to the activities of the financial organization itself.
"The corrupt official was detained in the bank in the bank when receiving a bribe," said Pilipchuk, adding that in the interests of the investigation the name of the detainee has not yet been disclosed.
"Mikhail Prokhorov was given explanations, we have no complaints about the bank," he said.
Earlier, the representative of the IFC told the Prime agency that the appearance of security forces in the bank’s operating office on Tver Boulevard was associated with the activities of one of the customers - an individual. According to him, to the IFC itself, the ONEKIM group, Mikhail Prokhorov, which includes the bank, or the right business party, the leader of which is Prokhorov, what is happening has nothing to do.
The Bank "International Financial Club" was created in 2008 on the basis of April Bank. The bank provides a full range of financial services to large corporate and private wealthy customers. The shareholders of the bank are famous businessmen Mikhail Prokhorov (27.7 percent), Alexander Abramov (19.71 percent), Victor Vekselberg (19.71 percent), Suleiman Kerimov (19.71 percent) and Ekaterina Ignatova (13.14 percent).
Businessman Mikhail Prokhorov headed the party at the end of June 2011. He stated that the “right business” would strive to become the “second party in power” and enter the parliament.
Prokhorov also spoke about the need to increase social expanses and reduce the defense budget, change the infrastructure of the economy and the country's management system, cancel the institution of the embassy, give great powers to the regions, and restore the elections of mayors of cities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.
