Funkybookings.com is an online booking system for unusual hotels. Thus, unusual hotels are those hotels that have their own vision of what the hotel business is, what creativity and originality means, in such a traditional field as the hotel business. For example, it could be a prison hotel, or an underwater hotel.

Moreover, since our partners are unusual hotels, then our project should be different from other online booking systems. In the funkybookings.com system, the search and selection of a hotel occurs not according to the usual parameters such as place, time and price, but according to what sensations and emotions you want to experience during your vacation. For example, do you want to experience inspiration and elation? You can choose these two emotions and get a couple of hotels to choose from.

Our mission is to create Funky Tourism Group, and to be the most unconventional and provocative project in the tourism and hotel business, bringing funky emotions to ourselves and our clients.

Why now?

Today, the online booking market in Russia is developing, there are not very many players in the market, and they are engaged in booking regular hotels. Today, the size of the online booking market in Russia is less than 10% of all bookings; in India, for example, it is already 25%. The remaining 90% comes from tour operators and other agencies. In 3-5 years, the Russian online booking market will reach 10 billion US dollars.

Development

Work to date (September – November)

The project was launched on August 30, 2011, and there is a lot of work ahead.

Our plans for today:

1) Create a database of 300 unusual hotels in Russian and English

2) Develop the booking system to be automatic through the website

3) Switch to a 10% commission system with hotels. ( end of November)

4) Open an LLC before the end of September.

We plan to achieve full payback in April 2012.
