In Iran launched the Bushera NPP

In Iran, the launch of the first nuclear power plant in the country of the Bushera NPP took place. According to RBC, high -ranking Iranian and Russian officials took part in the ceremony, including the general director of the Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko and Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko.

Iran expects that at full capacity the station built by Russian experts will be able to launch in a couple of months. Currently, the Busher NPP operates at a capacity of 350-400 MW, and for the specified time Iranians hope to increase it to 900-1000 MW. However, Shmatko emphasized that these terms are indicative.

“There is no need to warm yourself with expectations when the nuclear power plant reaches the design capacity. There is a technical regulation, and we will bring it out (station. - Ed.) To the full capacity as much as security requires,” he emphasized.

In turn, Kiriyenko said that at the Busher nuclear power plant in Iran would be stress tests according to the Russian program. According to him, the corresponding protocol has already been signed by the Iranian side. At the same time, Kiriyenko noted that part of the tests has already been carried out.

A company from Germany Kraftwerk Union AG began to build nuclear power plants back in 1974, but the project was stopped after the Islamic Revolution, which occurred in Iran in 1979. In the 1990s, Moscow and Tehran reached an agreement that the completion of construction will be carried out with the help of Russian specialists. Work on the construction of the Busher NPP were entrusted to atomstroyexport CJSC (part of the structure of the state corporation Rosatom).
