On Friday in Russia, the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 (WP7) mobile platform will officially debut - sales of the first smartphone on this operating system begin. This is HTC Mozart, which appeared in Europe and the USA back in October 2010.
The price of the device will be about 13 thousand rubles, at first it will be possible to buy it at MTS or Svyaznoy companies, RIA Novosti reports.
Among the advantages of WP7 are a modern convenient user interface and built -in integration with online social services. Representatives of Microsoft previously explained the delay in the launch of the system in Russia by the need to integrate the system with local online services and implement the support of the Russian language.
The world market share of the platform, according to Gartner analysts, in the second quarter of 2011 did not exceed 1.6%. At the same time, the unification of the efforts of the Microsoft Corporation and the world's largest mobile phones manufacturer Nokia (which announced this year about reorientation on WP7) allows us to hope for the expansion of the platform in the future.
The HTC Mozart is not equipped with the most modern hardware filling, but in Russia it will appear with the latest version of Windows Phone 7, known under the code name Mango. One of its key features is the support of many new languages, including Russian.
The emergence of more modern WP7 Smartphones in Russia is expected in October, when the HTC begins to sell Titan and Radar models in September. They will have to compete with numerous Android devices and with Apple products, which in October is supposed to present the next new generation iPhone (however, the latter can get to Russia with a noticeable delay). The number of applications available for Windows Phone 7 thousand, which is an order of magnitude less than the leaders of the Google Android and Apple iOS market.
For some time, HTC will have to “fight” for Windows Phone 7 in Russia alone, as this is the only manufacturer who announced WP7-Smartphones for the domestic market.
