The defense of the ex-head of Menatep Platon Lebedev will not appeal the decision of the Arkhangelsk Regional Court, which confirmed the refusal of the Velsky District Court in parole. This was reported by Interfax from the words of an entrepreneur lawyer Konstantin Rivkin.
According to the defender, the lawyers of the entrepreneur intend to consider the question of Udo Lebedev in the European Court of Human Rights.
Platon Lebedev and the ex-head of the oil company Yukos Mikhail Khodorkovsky in the first criminal case in 2005 were sentenced to eight years in prison, including fraud and tax evasion.
In the framework of the second case for the theft of oil and the legalization of the proceeds from its sale of money, the court sentenced them to 14 years in prison, but in May 2011 the Moscow City Court reduced the sentence of one year. Given the first sentence and in conclusion of time, they must be released in 2016. However, Lebedev and Khodorkovsky have already served half the deadline, and therefore have the right to UDO.
