Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will single-handedly lead the list of candidates for deputies from United Russia in the upcoming Duma elections. As Interfax reports, a source in the leadership of EP said this. According to the source, Putin’s surname will be the only one in the federal part of the United Russia electoral list: a scheme used in the past parliamentary elections will be repeated.
In the Gostiny Dvor on Friday, the congress of the party in power begins its work. It is assumed that for their electoral list, delegates from United Russia will vote on the second day of the congress on Saturday.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov did not deny this information, but stated that it was premature to talk about this so far, RIA Novosti reports. “As long as it is premature to talk about this, you have to wait for the congress,” he said.
On the eve of the media reported that the list of EP could be headed by President Dmitry Medvedev, and Putin will be the second. Back in August, the sources suggested that Medvedev intends to speak at the congress with a speech in which he could answer the question of which of the participants in the ruling tandem will run for president. At the same time, some experts doubted that Putin and Medvedev would clarify this question until the end of the elections to the State Duma.
On August 22, it became known that a group of public figures and journalists decided to create a protest movement for agitation for the active boycott of the Duma elections. It was decided to call the movement "Nah-no: vote against all."
The purpose of the new movement is an attempt to prevent falsification of elections in conditions when the calls to the boycott are illegal, and the column "against all" is absent in the ballots. The participants in the movement will explain that the upcoming elections are illegitimate on December 4, and call on to spoil the ballots. It is planned to be aged using printed materials, shares in the regions, including "at the junction of art and politics", as well as the placement of rollers on the Internet.
