The chief state sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko approved a program to grow genetically modified hemp for industrial purposes, Interfax reports.
“To set the task of replacing a wild hemp with a non -signcetic - probably there is a certain meaning in this, ” Gennady Onishchenko expressed his opinion. “The idea is known and has long been discussed. Now everything can be done, including genetically modified so that there is no drug in hemp, ”said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.
The issue of raising non -signatistic hemp in Russia will be taken for discussion at its meeting of the State Anti -Drug Committee. Earlier, the head of the Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) Viktor Ivanov said that according to the results of this meeting, the State Anti -Drug Committee will recommend taking measures to unfold production based on raw materials from non -discriminatory hemp. The department is considered a hemp with an important industrial raw material, the growing area of which in Russia in recent years has been significantly reduced.
