633 Russians who bought real estate in Latvia will receive a residence permit in the EU

The total volume of foreign investments obtained by Latvia thanks to the legislative amendments of 2010 , allowing you to issue a residence permit in the European Union in exchange for monetary investments in real estate or the company of the country, amounted to 66.4 million lats (more than 130 million dollars).

This year, a residence permit in Latvia in exchange for investments was requested by 1079 people, including family family members.

The acquisition of real estate has become the most popular way to obtain a residence permit in the EU. According to Komsomolskaya Pravda , 633 citizens and citizens of Russia have already applied to the Latvian authorities for a residence permit in the EU on the basis of the purchase of real estate in the republic.

Most often, Russians buy real estate in Riga or Jurmala (280 objects of 328 transactions committed in order to obtain a residence permit). Owners of Latvian real estate earned 45.3 million lats on foreign investors.

Other ways of obtaining a residence permit in Latvia - investing in the company's capital and investment in subordinated capital of banks - are less popular. 301 A foreigner claims to receive a residence permit on the basis of one of these opportunities. Thanks to these methods, Latvian companies and banks received investments in the amount of 21.1 million armor, where more than 20 million are on banks.
