Pink stones

A pink diamond is considered one of the most expensive stones: only blue, red or green diamonds are more expensive. Rare in nature, pink diamonds are always used as solitaires in jewelry: they become the central element of a “memorial”, family ring. Meanwhile, the need of jewelers for stones of pink shades is very great: pink tones are traditionally responsible for romantic moods, sentimentalism, youth and, at the same time, soulfulness.

The most popular “substitute” for a pink diamond is its colleague in the highest precious class - pink sapphire. Colored sapphires - from the already mentioned pink original to more fancy yellow, blue, violet, lilac stones - are often found in nature. Moreover, they are large in size and intense shades. Pink sapphires go very well and elegantly with classic white diamonds, as well as with any other sapphire brothers. As a rule, these stones are framed in white gold or even in more formal and expensive platinum - like the Americans Harry Winston or Tiffany & Co.

Since the mid-2000s, pink spinel has also been the focus of jewelers' attention: this stone produces slightly different, redder, richer and brighter shades than pink sapphire. Spinel is combined with different golds, often yellow and pink, even blackened metal. The rarer pink kunzite, on the contrary, is very uniform in shade: it is characterized by great transparency, a very cold, icy, “snow-covered” shine. Kunzites are combined with white gold and white diamonds, wanting to emphasize the transparency of the stone and its coldness.

Opaque stones of pink shades include opals and corals: they often have various milky, creamy, coffee, that is, “sweet” shades. Opals or corals are set in white or rose gold and must be combined with colored diamonds or sapphires to better emphasize the opaque texture. Pink pearls are very expensive and rare: they are a 100% collectible material, combined with white diamonds of the highest quality.

The most affordable pink stones are quartz, topaz and tourmaline: these are stones with character, but without a special honorable position in society. Jewelry with quartz, tourmaline or pink topaz does not have a significant museum price, but they can differ in design and sometimes naturally end up on the list of “main jewelry of the season.”
