Iran could not launch his first monkey into orbit

The Iranian Irana news agency reported that the Kavoshgar -5 rocket with the capsule in which the living monkey was located, went to the near -Earth orbit in the Iranian month of Shakhrivar (August 23 - September 22).

“However, the launch was not reported,” Mohammed Mehdinjad-Nuri, Deputy Minister for Science, explained to reporters, “because not all his goals were fulfilled.”

On October 3, Tehran announced without explaining the reasons that the launch of a living monkey into space is postponed indefinitely, writes Komsomolskaya Pravda .

The monkey was supposed to become the first Iranian cosmonaut, rising to a height of 120 kilometers and making a 20-minute orbital flight.

In the spring, the Iranian officials amicably argued that the flight of monkeys into space would be the first step on the way to sending a man outlined by Tehran for 2020. In mid-March, Iran announced the successful launch of the early version of the Kavoshgar-4 missile, which raised a test capsule into space, exactly the same in which the monkey was supposed to fly.

The Iranian space agency has already sent small animals to space - rats, turtles and worms in 2010 on the Kavoshgar -3 rocket. The first uninhabited satellite of the Islamic Republic sent into space in 2009.

Note that the first living creature brought to orbit was the dog Like. She was delivered there on the Soviet ship "Sputnik-2", which started on November 3, 1957 from Baikonur. The first animal sent into space by the Americans, the monkey proudly flew on December 13, 1958.
