Polish anticlricans demand to remove the cross from the meeting hall of parliament

The new dispute due to the Christian symbol broke out in the Polish parliament: the Palikot anticleric party requires a cross from the Sejm meeting hall.

The head of the party, which built his election campaign on a polemic with a Catholic Church and gained almost 10% of the vote in the parliamentary elections on October 9, believes that in the parliament of a secular state there is no place for religious symbols. Yanush Palikot said that if necessary, he will file a complaint with the Constitutional Court, reports the Sedmitsa.ru portal with reference to the Kipa-pic and SDA agency.

In 2010, in Poland, there was already a fierce dispute about the possibility of being on the square in front of the presidential palace of the memorial cross. A wooden cross was installed a few days after the death of 96 people in Smolensk, including President Lech Kachinsky with his wife. After the new president of Bronislav Komorovsky came to power, it was decided to remove the cross from the square.
