Prime Minister of Ukraine visited the Forum of the Intelligentsia of the CIS countries in Kyiv
On October 20, in Kiev, the VI forum of the creative and scientific intelligentsia of countries - participants of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) began, reports Polit.ua .
The forum was opened by the 26th meeting of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS member states created in 1995. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Nikolai Azarov, who in his speech at the opening announced the need to restore moral values lost after the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
“I am especially glad that here, in Kyiv, we all gathered together and can speak in the language that is understandable to us, our general language, and, based on our common culture, think about how to make the values that we have lost are not only restored, but also developed,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister reports Polit.ua.
Nikolai Azarov also told the audience about the agreement signed on the eve of the free trade zone with the countries of the Commonwealth. He noted that the contract was ready several years ago in Minsk, and signed only now, and Ukraine will try to ratify it as quickly as possible.
About the results of the meeting of the first day of the forum told reporters by the Minister of Culture of Russia Alexander Avdeev. He said that the Council considered the issues of creating a single register of cultural heritage and a single base of legislation in this area. On the territory of the CIS countries there are cross -border monuments of the bygone civilizations (for example, Scythian). According to Avdeev, such monuments must be protected and certified by joint efforts, as well as adopting experience and legal formulations from each other when writing the laws affecting them.
In addition, the parties managed to agree on the creation of the Center for the Preservation of the World Heritage of the CIS member countries, the concept of the functioning of which will be created as part of the forum.
Note that in Ukraine the event takes place for the first time. The previous meeting of the intelligentsia of the CIS countries was held in 2010 in Moscow. The event organized within the walls of Kyiv University. T. Shevchenko, will continue until October 22.
On Friday, the forum continued his work with meetings of round tables on the topics: “Taras Shevchenko: creativity and intercultural dialogue” and “Mikhail Lomonosov: scientific and creative heritage”.
