Blue Buckets are preparing shares against dedicated lanes in Moscow

Activists of the Blue Vederoks (OSV) did not exclude that in the near future they would hold promotions demanding the cancellation of the dedicated lanes if the situation with traffic jams in Moscow will deteriorate, Interfax reports.

Recently, on almost all “flight” highways of Moscow, dedicated bands for public transport have appeared, even in those areas where public transport does not run at all. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, speaking this week before the deputies of the Moscow City Duma, said that the widespread introduction of the allocated lanes for public transport by 20-40 percent increased the speed of its movement.

“If the situation with traffic jams in Moscow will deteriorate, and there is no doubt with the advent of winter in this, we, apparently, will also have to deal with these stripes for deputies and ministers who hastened to take advantage of this new advantage in the movement,” said Peter Shkumatov, coordinator, Peter Shkumatov.

The discussion about the appropriateness of the dedicated bands flared up between human rights activists. The leader of the “For Human Rights” movement, Lev Ponomarev, in an interview with Interfax, said that the decision of the authorities massively organize the allocated public transport in Moscow will lead to a transport collapse. In his opinion, the authorities want to protect the rights of people who enjoy public transport, but infringe on the rights of motorists.

Meanwhile, representatives of the capital’s traffic police explained that drivers have the right to move along the allocated lanes for public transport in the event that this is not prohibited by the corresponding road signs. The deputy chief of the traffic police of Russia Vladimir Kuzin said that in the event that the sign “Strip for route vehicles” or “brick” is not installed on the corresponding sections of the roads, motorists can move along the allocated lanes. At the same time, he emphasized that you can stop into the strip only taking into account the requirements of the marking, that is, in those places where an intermittent line is applied.
