Astrakhan police caught a criminal who made a daring escape from the district court building. The attacker took advantage of the poorly covered hole in the floor, which remained after the repair of the sewage system, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the representative of the press service of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate Daria Nikolaev.
For the escape from custody, the convict for theft is facing a new punishment in the form of three years in prison. And the law enforcement officers are now justified that they simply did not expect such agility from the criminal, since he was pronounced a relatively soft sentence - only 1.5 years of a colony -settlement.
It was established that for the escape the convict took advantage of the old hole remaining in the convoy room after replacing sewer pipes in the building. As it turned out, the workers did not firmly shore a hole, and the prisoner, who had just read out the verdict, could climb into it.
The crime was committed on Tuesday, but the criminal failed to go far - the investigators quickly calculated that the fugitive would go to their beloved woman, and went there. “The investigators from the search department found him on the same day, they detained his roommate at home,” Daria Nikolaeva explained.
According to one of the law enforcement officers who took part in searching events, the fugitive explained his escape with a burning desire to see his daughter before sending to the colony. Once in the camera and finding traces of fresh repairs around the water pipes, he immediately came up with a way to get free.
“He began to jump on the solution, beat his foot and gradually made a hole, sufficient to climb to the lower floor. There was a technical room in which there was nobody,” the policeman told the details of the curious shoot. Further, the criminal turned his jacket inside out so that the security at the exit would not remember him as a cinema, and then "freely leave the court building." We add that the fugitive was convicted under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft), but now he will be charged with article 313 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (escape from custody).
However, the thief has a chance to avoid additional punishment. “According to modern judicial practice, the sentenced to the settlement is most often released after the court and give the opportunity to go on their own to the place of serving the sentence,” the law enforcement agencies noted. “If such a decision has already been made at the time of the emergency, then the actions of the convict may not be regarded as an escape.” Then they will not initiate a criminal case against the fugitive.
A similar case occurred in early October in Omsk. The accused escaped from the courtroom after the verdict for theft and a threat to the murder. The man was sentenced to 2 years in a general regime colony. According to the FSSP department, the attacker left the courtroom through a spare exit when the bailiff called the police to escort him. They detained the criminal last Tuesday - he was hiding in the house of his friends.
