According to the US Commission on Securities and Exchange (SEC), Gupta, at the height of the 2008 crisis, transmitted secret information about Goldman Sachs plans to the founder of the Galleon Group, Raja Rajaratama, which allowed him to earn more than 18 million dollars. In March of this year, SEC began an investigation against Gupta.
A native of India, Gupta worked in the consulting company McKinsey & Co for about 32 years, and since 2006 he served as a member of the Board of Directors Goldman Sachs.
