The governor of Bangkokok Sukhumbhan Paribat in a special communique pointed out that the water level in the Praya River in the Praya River over the past day again broke his own record set on Tuesday in the morning, and reached 2.4 meters above sea level. On Monday, the water rose to a level of 2.3 meters, which is 3 cm above the record set during floods 15 years ago.

According to the forecasts of the city chapter, the water level in the river will rise to 2.6 meters, which is 10 cm more than the height of hydraulic fences along its coast. As soon as the water begins to flow over concrete fortifications, it will destroy them, the mayor warned. The evacuation centers are urgently organized in all 50 municipal districts of the nine -million city. As the governor noted, the water level in the Praya River reaches unprecedented indicators.

Director of the Center for Disaster University Rangit, Professor Seri Sparadite, said that in the worst of the possible scenarios of the development of events, Bangkok will be completely flooded. A tenth of the city - areas along the river and channels - can go under water by 2 meters. Another quarter of the city will go under water for 1 meter, another quarter - by 50 cm. The rest of Bangkok will be flooded by 10-12 cm.

The number of catastrophic flood victims in Thailand reached 366 people, ITAR-TASS reported in the department for the prevention of natural disasters of the kingdom. Water destroyed at least 800 thousand residential buildings. On the territory of Thailand, 1.2 thousand shelters are opened for people who are forced to leave their homes.

As a result of floods, more than 3 million people were injured, 720 thousand applied for medical help. On the territory of the country there are 200 mobile hospitals.

At the moment, the water level in the provinces located north of Bangkok has stabilized, but a giant water mass is approaching the capital - about 4 billion cubic meters.

Bangkok International Airport "Suvarnabhumi" is still operating normally. Don Mueang Airport is closed due to the flooding of the runway at least until November 1.
