The Armenian Apostolic Church fits perfectly into the Russian model of interreligious and interconfessional relations: it focuses on a specific ethnic group and does not proselytize among non-Armenians. For Armenians in the diaspora, the church is a means of preserving ethnic identity, culture, and partly also language (although the language is being lost quite quickly - in the second generation, collections of Armenian prayers are published in Russian). For the Russian Orthodox Church, the Armenian Church is not a rival in the struggle for the flock, so a truly idyllic relationship can develop between them.

It would be interesting to consider the prospect of the Armenian Church joining Orthodoxy. At the everyday level, Orthodox icons are used in Armenian churches, although it is hardly possible to imagine Armenian icons in the Orthodox Church. Probably, ordinary believers would not have paid attention to the rejection of dubious formulations, because of which the Russian Orthodox Church did not sign the Chambesian Agreements (agreements between the Orthodox churches of the Byzantine and Ancient Eastern traditions, which contain an agreed position on issues of Christological teaching - “Hedgehog”). Moreover, Orthodox theologians claim that the Armenian side does not show interest in discussing dogmatic issues and seeks to discuss only the ritual side. The ritual side of Orthodoxy is very flexible. Now members of the Armenian Apostolic Church are accepted into Orthodoxy through repentance, priests - in their existing rank.
