On Monday, police detained an employee of the fourth department of the Internal Affairs Directorate at the Moscow Metro, suspected of raping a girl, said a representative of the press service of the Russian Main Internal Affairs Directorate for Moscow.

According to him, at about 19.30, passers-by in the area of house number 45 on Sinelnikovskaya Street heard screams and called the police. “A Moscow police squad arrived at the scene and detained a man born in 1983, who was found to have an identification card as an employee of the fourth department of the Internal Affairs Directorate at the Moscow Metro. He is suspected of committing rape of a girl born in 1985,” he said.

The source added that the citizen, according to preliminary data, was intoxicated, was detained and taken to the police department.

“According to the preliminary conclusion of doctors, the girl received bodily injuries and was raped. “She has now been taken to the hospital,” said a representative of the Moscow Main Department of Internal Affairs. He also said that the management of the Internal Affairs Directorate at the Moscow Metro of the Moscow State Department of Internal Affairs began an internal investigation into this fact.

“According to the preliminary results of the inspection, the employee himself, the deputy company commander for educational work, as well as the company commander of the fourth department and the assistant head of the internal affairs department at the Moscow Metro for working with personnel will be dismissed from the internal affairs bodies. The battalion commander will be relieved of his post, and the head of the fourth department will be severely reprimanded due to his extremely short tenure in office,” added the employee of the capital’s GUMVD.

In addition, incomplete official compliance will be announced to the deputy chief of the Internal Affairs Directorate at the Moscow Metro - the chief of police, he noted.
