The phrase Double Standard is stable popular in world politics, diplomacy, human rights. For a long time, the term has also been rooted in Soviet propaganda: its slaughter force was tested in the middle of the last century. Well, in fact, what are the rights of a person’s rights of democracy, when their hands on the elbow in the blood: they are lying through the blacks, drive the Indians in the reservation and force the unfortunate doctor Haider to starve?

He who worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for almost 40 years Sergey Lavrov is a deep Soviet man. The fact is that on October 31, a few hours after the minister’s historical statement, the Russian opposition reached the triumphal square again. Unlike Belarusians, she was not going to overthrow the current government. Unlike American fighters for popular happiness, Russian citizens did not intend to occupy the Krasnopresnenskaya embankment, Rublevka or Gazprom with Sberbank. They simply exercised their right to a peaceful demonstration. The usual evidence, because in this right, contrary to the constitution, they were once again denied.

And again they were beaten and arrested. Silently. With grunts and sniffing. With a cry: "Lie down, fucking!" It is very professional that it is not surprising when at least ten masters of his craft accounts for one amateur. And the same thing happened in many other Russian cities, where they were screwed to the disagreements regardless of what they did in the square: they shouted unpleasant slogans such as "Mubarak, Gaddafi, Putin!" Or patriotically played badminton, like Fedor Goruzhanka with her friends in St. Petersburg. According to the tradition of beating, they continued in autozaks and police departments, where the detainees were delivered. And then there will be courts, so similar to those that we observe in a union state, but very different from the American ones.

Actually, no double standards in nature exist. The standards of a civilized state, civilized handling of the opposition, civilized proceedings are united. However, in the modern world, like a thousand years ago, the norm is a rarity, which is why the temptation to fit lawlessness to the law is so great. Or justify the lawlessness in your country, a link to the fact that the same thing is everywhere. From the point of view of diplomatic, this move is reasonable and often even clever. An awkwardness arises when the minister is very distracted from the events in his own state, and here the discussions about double standards sound as convincingly as in Soviet times.
