
The highest American slides in Europe, the cost of which is estimated at 25 million euros, will be built in the Spanish Portaventura Entertainment Park in the spring of 2012, the press service of the park reports.
According to RIA Novosti , the highest point of the attraction will be located 76 meters from the ground. According to the creators, the design in the form of a mountain chain will be clearly visible from all sides for many kilometers from the park.
The American slides (which the Spaniards call Russians) - a joint ambitious project Portaventura and Bollinger & Mabillard, which developed the famous Dragon Khan attraction, which became the symbol of Portaventura Park.
New American slides are designed to defeat the former European records, as they will become the highest on the continent, they will have the longest descent (78 meters) without loops, the speed at which can reach 134 km/h.
The slides will have five so -called "camel humps", the lowest of which is the height of the seven -story building.
Portaventura is located in the Spanish city of Salou about an hour's ride south of Barcelona. More than 3 million people visit it annually, this is the most visited entertainment park in Spain and the sixth in Europe.
