Apple has released an updated version of the iOS 5.0.1 operating system, which should solve the problem of an abnormally quick exhaustion of the iPhone battery, RIA Novosti reports.

Both the owners of the new iPhone 4S and users of older models, who updated the operating system to iOS 5, which came out on October 12, faced the problem of quick discharge of the smartphone. On the iPhone 4S, the iOS 5 operating system is installed at the stage of production of the device.

Apple quickly recognized the problem, said that the error lies precisely in the software, and promised to release the update that corrects this error. In early November, the IOS 5.0.1 version began to test application developers for the company's mobile devices.

In the iOS 5.0.1 version, Apple added the "Multitasking Gestures" function to the first iPad, corrected a number of errors in working with documents as part of the iCloud service and improved the operation of the Siri voice management for Australian users.

The update is available to the owners of the iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, as well as the iPod Touch of the third and fourth generations.

The iOS 5.0.1 version was the first update that iPhone and iPad users will be able to download and install by connecting a smartphone or tablet to a computer or directly from the device, downloading the update via a wireless network.
