Leonid Kuchma: Chernomyrdin could frankly talk about events in our countries

Victor Chernomyrdin was indeed a great friend of Ukraine, ”Leonid Kuchma said about the former Prime Minister of Russia, and later after the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Polit.ua reports. According to the ex-president of Ukraine, Chernomyrdin felt in Kyiv a “not quite diplomat”, and therefore could honestly and frankly talk about the events that took place in our countries.

The warm words about Viktor Stepanovich were said to the presentation of the book of Viktor Chernomyrdin "Time Choose us", which took place on November 11 in Kyiv in the Leonid Kuchma Foundation. The book is the first volume of the planned Viktor Chernomyrdin trilogy, which tells about the life, work and formation of Chernomyrdin as a leader and politician. The released volume concerns the period until 1991.

The presentation of the book was also attended by the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Litvin, the current Saw of Russia in Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov and many others.
