Requirements for the size of the salaries of rural teachers, presented when considering their applications for mortgage loans, must be reduced to minimum, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Tuesday at the All-Russian Forum of the rural intelligentsia.
"There are several elements that need to be paid attention to. This is the level of interest rate: 8-8.5% is a bit too much. It will be necessary for this category (teachers) to reduce it. This will require additional expenses of a budget nature," Putin said. It is quoted by RIA Novosti .

"The second is the first contribution that the state should provide. The third is the rule according to which a mortgage loan can be issued only if there is a certain level of wages. This level should be reduced to minimal indicators," the prime minister said.
He added that the Government of the Russian Federation will study the most successful regional practices in this area and introduce them in other regions.
