After the German court sided with Apple in September and confirmed the ban on the sale of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the country, Samsung had to modify the German market, taking into account the competitor’s patent claims, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the CNET News publication.
According to reports, a metal rim around the perimeter of the device was a fundamental difference between the new design of the tablet from Samsung. Whether the design and technology of the device has undergone other changes is unknown.
The changed design of the tablet, apparently, was the result of the cooperation of the Samsung team in the design of products and lawyers in Germany, writes a German Foss Patent media blog, the media blog regularly cited due to the confrontation between Apple and Samsung. According to him, if a metal rim has become the only change in the tablet, Samsung can threaten new claims from Apple.
The first about launching an updated product called Galaxy Tab 10.1n was reported by the German website Mobiflip.
The ban affects only Germany, however, Samsung units operating in the country, as a result of a solution, cannot sell devices in other European Union states.
Nevertheless, as reported, some online stores in Germany found a loophole similar to the decision of the Australian network DMAVO. In Australia, Samsung also could not launch the sales of the new Galaxy Tab, but Dmavo has created a unit in Europe, which accepts orders on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and distributes directly from Asia.

Apple believes that Samsung helps to copy the design of its products to its development, which it has as a partner. The South Korean giant rejects these accusations and, for his part, accuses Apple’s copyright violations.
The American company has already managed to win several important victories in the courts in Australia, Germany and the Netherlands.
Now rivals are conducting several parallel lawsuit in the courts of around the world. The number of claims between the two companies was two dozen - and this, obviously, is not the limit.
