The Republic of Mauritius, the island state in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean, which, 900 km east of Madagascar, announced the creation of new religious routes for tourists.
The organization to promote tourism in the republic concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Council for Religion in order to open religious monuments to visit tourists, the Nizhny Novgorod Information Service "Voyazh" reports.
Tourists could visit some places of religious cult in Mauritius and before signing such an agreement. Many travelers arrived at the island precisely during religious festivals and holidays. But now there will be much more such tourists. In Mauritius, they are going to publish a special annual calendar of religious dates and holidays. Information about religious and ethnic festivals will be published on sites and in guidebooks.
The organization to promote tourism in the republic emphasizes that inappropriately dressed vacationers will not be able to use new offers to visit local temples and holy places.
