Onishchenko spoke about the well -being of the Russians who committed Hajj in Mecca

Almost all the Russians professing Islam and who went to Hajj in Saudi Arabia at the end of September, returned to Russia. Any diseases, including influenza, are not registered. This was announced the day before by the chief state sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation Gennady Onishchenko, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Onishchenko, 19 thousand 712 people returned to Russia today, and about 20.5 thousand were left. “We are approaching the end. Everything is going fine, there are no complications and patients,” said the chief sanitary doctor.

He recalled that Saudi Arabia demanded that all pilgrims from meningitis and flu. Such work was carried out, almost 20 thousand people were vaccinated.

According to Onishchenko, the pilgrimage began on September 27 - October 1. Approximately 9 thousand pilgrims went to Hajj by air, and 11 thousand in cars. Most of them are the inhabitants of Dagestan. The return of pilgrims should be completed on December 25.

Earlier, President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that the country's leadership is ready to provide Muslim organizations in Russia in resolving the issue of increasing the quota to commit Hajj. With the corresponding request for an increase in the quota to 30-35 thousand pilgrims from the Russian Federation, the Supreme Mufti, the chairman of the Central Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Russia (TSCUI) Talgat Tajuddin , addressed the president.
