In addition, any elections increase the legitimacy of the regime. After all, if the population voluntarily comes to the polling stations, it means, at a minimum, that they recognize the regime that organizes these elections.
This means that the population must give something in return for participating in elections. And the regime gives back. Mostly money. Promises for the future (to give the same money) are in less demand among the electorate.
But there is not enough money for everyone. Besides, not everyone can be given so easily. State employees (namely, they are the main recipients) are not the most influential electorate. They, the dumb ones, in extreme cases, can be driven to the ballot boxes with an administrative twig.
The intelligentsia, the business class, the youth, that is, the most active or influential among them, must be involved in the elections. In addition, there are a large number of people in the country who are oppositional or generally apolitical. And the percentage of such people is said to be increasing. What to do with them? You can't give money to everyone. And how to control these expenses?
The solution is simple and very reliable. It is necessary to create such conditions so that the population moves on its own. And she did it smartly and independently, without any coercion or stimulation. Whether everyone goes to the polls is actually not important (they will draw the right number). Someone will come for sure. The main thing is that people are active. To do this, it is necessary to slightly disrupt their mental adaptation. Many people have. The population of the entire country.
If you are exposed to a stimulus, you will react anyway. Either adapt or try to get rid of the source of irritation. For example, run away.
If you cannot escape and it is impossible to adapt, the body will malfunction in the form of psychosis or a neurotic disorder. Election campaign (irritant). You can't hide from her. It is impossible to adapt (the period is short, only a few months). It causes slight damage to the mental health of the country's population. Easy. But the damage.
Neurotic disorders and psychoses are often accompanied by: pronounced motor agitation, obsessive thoughts, fears, desires to act and general activity. A familiar picture, isn't it? And people are being scammed. Television, press, Internet. Top officials of the state are often involved in the process. The small enterprise of Russian nationalists instantly became the subject of discussion, theory and suspicion.
The nationalists rejoice. Their opponents break into hysterics. It’s true that neither one nor the other manages the budget and subsidies to the republics of the North Caucasus Federal District do not depend on them in any way. Hysteria and emotions have no meaning other than what is shown. The process has started. Then it will go into a self-sustaining phase.
Someone loves Alexei Navalny. Some people hate it. We associate him with the nationalists. We allow the Russian march. We advertise everything on the radio on the Internet. As a result, people break into hysterics, arguing about the coming Orange or National revolution.
The main task of the Kremlin political strategists is to prevent the emergence of large groups affected by a general psychosis. Otherwise the process will get out of control.
