176 vehicles involved in accidents in Tennessee

One person was killed and 16 others were injured in a crash involving 176 vehicles in the US state of Tennessee on Thursday.

According to local authorities, after one of
driver lost control, the cars behind him started
crash into each other along the chain. Most likely the reason
accident that occurred near the state capital of Nashville,
there was heavy fog and ice, ITAR-TASS reports.

The police organized traffic movement along bypass roads
routes, and currently special service teams are eliminating
consequences of the accident. Rescuers clear the road of congestion
broken cars. Traffic on the highway is expected to be
partially blocked for several more hours.

According to local authorities, the accident involved a school student.
