There is no need, I believe, for any revolutions, barricades or shedding of blood in the squares. It is simply necessary to restore a fair electoral system in the country and bring it under strict public control. And she herself will bring to power those who meet the expectations of the people.

Let’s say today they won, tomorrow they removed Churov, the day after tomorrow they appointed someone... Well, Davidis was appointed. I don’t know who this is, but it’s a good surname. All the time it appears in news reports about opposition affairs.

What will change? Absolutely nothing. The voting and counting system is not reliable, not transparent and vulnerable to manipulation. The procedure for forming the composition of election commissions is not reliable, their activities are not transparent and are vulnerable to administrative or other pressure. Responsibility for fraud and falsification is theoretically available, but in practice it is not implemented. The fraudster feels almost completely safe. In this state of affairs, there will be no more trust in Davidis than in Churov. The one who does not win will shout about falsifications and try to lead the people to protest rallies.

Now is a very good moment to change the course of things. The picket rallies took place without major incidents and, in general, turned out well. But the authorities are scared. This should be used to bring the Russian electoral system into some order.

It is clear that in fact the communists, Zhirinovites and Socialist-Revolutionaries are quite satisfied with the election results. At rallies, they lazily join popular protests - purely to save face. They do not need any cancellation of the results. “Apple” is offended and in flight. Judging by the totality of reports from the field, many votes were actually taken away from Yabloko members through fraud, depriving them of Duma mandates purposefully and artificially. But Yabloko alone is unable to achieve a revision of the voting results. This is clear, and even posing the question this way, it seems to me, is pointless.

But in terms of restoring the reliability of Russian electoral procedures, all four of these parties have a common equal interest. And they could, taking advantage of the moment, present a united front. I think it is urgent to create an inter-party commission, entrusting it with two matters.

First, to identify, bring to trial and actual verdicts two to three dozen cases of fraud at polling stations. Each of the listed games contains such documented stories. It is necessary to select the most promising ones and give them a go, piling on the courts with the entire multi-party mass and sending there the best party lawyers. If twenty chairmen of PECs and TECs in different regions of Russia, based on the results of the December 4 elections, receive real sentences for falsification, all subsequent elections are guaranteed to become much more fair. That's what is required.

Secondly, this cross-party commission must urgently prepare a bill to amend election laws. Even before the March presidential elections, the bill should be submitted to the State Duma on behalf of one of the party factions, and perhaps on behalf of all parties involved at once. It is quite clear what exactly needs to be changed in order for the elections to become absolutely fair. By the time of the presidential elections, the law will, of course, not yet be in effect, but the requirements contained in it will undoubtedly affect the work of PECs, TECs and the Central Election Commission very positively. In this way, we will ensure much greater integrity for the upcoming elections.

If United Russia wants to participate in the activities of the inter-party commission, great, this will only help matters. If United Russia does not want to participate and starts shouting that the commission was created at the behest of the CIA and is provoking an “orange coup” in Russia, let them shout to themselves. You can do without them. They will only discredit themselves by doing this, since strong public opinion support for this commission is guaranteed.

I don’t know how to translate these proposals into real actions, which, in my opinion, are absolutely necessary and will be much more effective in ensuring the integrity of the elections than trampling on street rallies. I am addressing the grassroots party members. If the proposals seem reasonable to you, help spread them as widely as possible and put pressure on your party leadership from below, force them to act in the right direction...
