December 10 in Moscow

It was the most massive and most important event of street policy in Russia over the past ten years.

I could not even imagine that everything would go so well.

People met at the Tretyakovskaya metro station and went in a continuous stream to the place of events. The whole embankment, square and pedestrian bridge to it were covered with people.



Somewhere separately from this sea, there was a scene with the flags of "solidarity". There someone was talking about something, but no one listened to the speakers, and did not even try. The "solidarity" has no soundcoming equipment designed for such an area and so many listeners.

Therefore, it was not their, but our rally. People came for an hour, for two hours to realize a simple civil function.

You stole my voice and I demand to return the stolen.

Was there a policy in this? Undoubtedly.

Can we talk about the birth of a new political space in modern Russia? Certainly.

And the hand of the State Department? Well, hardly. When all your relatives, acquaintances and neighbors become American spies, to think about it.

People in the square entertained themselves, without the participation of the organizers. Someone had homemade posters, students shouted Putin Crab, and most simply in slight amazement examined the area on which before their eyes happened that ten days ago it was impossible: the Internet brought tens of thousands of people to a peaceful protest in Moscow.

The party of the Internet is very friendly, to be comfortable among these people. Our average age is thirty years old. We are not members of any political organizations. Two main groups - students and "middle class". We are united by a requirement referring to the elections and seriously to democracy. This is a very simple requirement and a very calm unity. Without bureaucracy and forced children with drums, who are forced to listen to hymns.

You can laugh at this, but now the girls VKontakte next to photos of cats of the photos of police fences. And for some reason I don’t think that the guys in the Kremlin are ridiculous from this.

I left about three when the stream towards the square was still large. What was later - I did not see, and I think that it is secondary.

The main result: 50 thousand people from the "Internet party" in Moscow first saw their real power and gained experience in street protest.

The police were practically not yet visible on the approaches - there were many times more people. And it became clear that the authorities decided not to escalate.

I am very glad that I was in Moscow today. For the first time since the time of the NATO bombing of Serbia in 1999, people in the city went out into the street with the awareness of their absolute moral correctness.

I will evaluate the political aspects of this overstate of the street later. And now I just say thanks to those people who were there with me.
