The leader of the LDPR faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the sixth convocation will be party chairman Vladimir Zhirinovsky , and the Liberal Democrats will nominate his son Igor Lebedev for the post of vice speaker. Lebedev reported this to ITAR-TASS on December 12 .

According to Lebedev, inter-factional negotiations are still ongoing and only the candidacies of the heads of parliamentary associations and deputy chairmen of the chamber are clear. Lebedev did not disclose their names and proposals from other factions. He confirmed that the first plenary meeting of the State Duma is expected on December 21.

In the State Duma of the fifth convocation, Lebedev led the LDPR faction, and Zhirinovsky was vice-speaker.
